Should You Kiss On A First Date?

Should you kiss on the first date?

The answer is yes, but also maybe no. Whether you kiss or not on the first date is going to depend on a lot of different factors.

When you're deciding if you want to go for a kiss on the first date, keep these points in mind:

Should You Kiss On A First Date?

#1. Chemistry Or Mood

This is basically to determine how the date is going.

Do you feel something with her? Do you feel a connection?

Do you feel like this might go somewhere, or do you feel like you've got a cold wall in front of you and you're just not connecting?

If you feel like things are going well, there's a moment and you want to go for it, then it's worth the shot.

But sometimes, even when things are going badly or it seems like they're going badly, it may actually work. Sort of like a bunker buster move.

I had this happen to me before in particular on one date. It turned out very very well. I was out with this girl, we were at a pub and we were sitting across from each other at this little table.

It was pretty mundane, slow, and I wasn't really feeling a lot of chemistry. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great.

I knew if I didn't do something, something big, this date was going to go nowhere.

While we were chatting, just out of the blue, I reached over, grabbed her gently, leaned over and I kissed her on the lips.

She was kind of surprised, but she didn't move away. Her eyes kind of bugged out of her head for a second, kinda like "what's happening?" Because it was so out of the blue.

But I figured, hey, I gotta go for something. We kept chatting for a few more minutes and then we went to her car.

While I was putting my seatbelt on, she said, "do you want to come over for a drink?" That turned into a great night, and it would have never happened if I didn't go for that kiss.

Obviously, this is not always going to work if you have a date that's not going well. This isn't the magic trick solution for every date, but it's something you might want to try.

#2. Location

If you're in a really busy spot or a certain event, it may not be appropriate.

You can kiss someone anywhere, but if you're in a quieter area, it will make it a lot easier to kiss.

#3. Your Date Goal

What's your date goal? Do you want to take this date somewhere or are you holding back and waiting for another date to do something?

Usually that's a bad strategy because it ends up leading nowhere. You don't end up getting that second date. So, it's often worth giving it a try.

Personally, the majority of time, I like to wait until I get someone home before I try going for a kiss.

But like in the previous story, sometimes this could work while you're on the date. Assess your situation and see where the date is going and where you want to take it.

If you feel the moment and you want to try, just go for it. The worst thing that could happen is that she rejects your kiss and it's like, well, so what?

Best that could happen is you get another date or even take her back home.
