🧠 “Was That Weird?” How to Stop Second-Guessing Everything You Say

You said something bold.
You made a joke.
You shared an opinion.

And now? You’re on a mental hamster wheel thinking:

“Was that awkward?”
“Did I say too much?”
“Do they think I’m weird?”

Welcome to the social anxiety spiral.
Let’s burn it to the ground.

Because confident women don’t replay convos—they walk away knowing they brought the vibe.

🧠 Why You Replay Social Interactions Like a Netflix Special

  • You're trained to monitor your likability
  • You're afraid of rejection
  • You want to “get it right”

But overanalysis kills confidence.
And no one is thinking about you as much as you think.

💡 Tools to Break the Second-Guess Spiral

1. Use the “Reality Flip” Exercise

Ask:

“If someone said that to me, would I think it was weird?”

Almost always: nope.

Your brain is exaggerating. Call it out.

2. Replace Rumination With Review

Instead of spiraling, ask:

“What did I do well?”
“What felt off—and what can I try next time?”

Now you’re learning, not loathing.

3. Set a Time Limit

Give yourself 5 minutes to think about the convo. Then stop.

Your thoughts aren’t bad—they’re just not helpful forever.

4. Anchor to Who You Were Being

Forget what you said. Ask:

“Was I being real? Present? Fun? Curious?”

If yes—you crushed it. Even if the words weren’t perfect.
