You see her. She’s stunning. She’s smiling.
Your brain says, “Go talk to her.”
Your body says, “Let’s play dead and hope she doesn’t notice us.”
If this has ever been you—you’re not broken, and you don’t need a total personality transplant.
You just need simple tools to calm your nerves long enough to take action.
Let’s walk through how to shift from frozen to focused before approaching a woman.
It’s not her.
It’s not the people around you.
It’s your brain thinking this is life or death.
Approaching someone triggers a social threat response:
But you’re not in danger.
Your body just needs the memo—and fast.
Feel the floor. Get out of your head and into your body.
Imagine your legs are planted like tree trunks.
The more grounded you feel physically, the less you spin mentally.
4 seconds in.
Hold for 1.
6 seconds out.
Do this 3 times. It slows your heart rate and tells your body you're safe.
“I’m feeling nervous. That’s okay.”
Naming it reduces its power.
You stop being in the anxiety and start observing it.
See yourself walking up and just saying “Hi.”
That’s it.
You’re not closing a deal. You’re starting a convo.
No pressure. No script. Just presence.
Don’t wait to feel totally calm.
Do it at 70% readiness. That’s your launch point.
Once you move, you shift from panic to flow.
Say this to yourself quietly:
“This will be over in 10 seconds, and I’ll be proud I tried.”
Whether she responds or not, you win.
Do this 5 times this week and you’ll start to feel bulletproof.
Don’t try to eliminate your fear.
Learn to move with it, breathe through it, and speak anyway.
That’s confidence. And it’s already within reach.
